Dosage
There is no standard dose for weight gain supplements, as they vary greatly in their nutrient composition. Some contain one isolated ingredient, like creatine monohydrate, and some have a wide variety of ingredients, making them rich in all three macronutrients and dozens of micronutrients. Most manufacturers use daily values (DVs), dietary reference intakes (DRIs), recommended daily allowances (RDAs), and adequate intakes (AIs) to determine dosage of each nutrient. How Much is Too Much?
Upper limits are established maximum levels for safe consumption of micronutrients, and are available on the National Institute of Health Office of Dietary Supplements website. Be sure not to exceed this upper limit, as the risk of adverse effects, like toxicity, is much greater above this amount.
